Second Helmholtz Call for Project Proposals Published: ScienceServe – Boosting Research Software at Helmholtz
Following the overwhelming success of the first call, Helmholtz has released a second call for proposals aimed at improving the quality, reusability, visibility and long‑term availability of scientific software.
The call encourages projects that implement best‑practice software engineering, strengthen exchange between developers and scientists, and promote the FAIR4RS principles. It is open to Helmholtz researchers, software engineers and teams at Helmholtz centers.
We encourage all funded projects to get in touch with the Helmholtz Information & Data Science plaforms, specifically HIFIS Consulting, and join the strong Helmholtz community of practice in research software development.
An online information session will be held on 25 June 2026. Applications must be submitted by 14 August 2026. The funding must be fully utilized within 2027 and 2028. Projects may run for 18 to 21 months, starting from March 2027.
